St. Francis Rehabilitation & Sports Medicine is the athletic training and sports medicine provider for Shakopee and Jordan High Schools. We have two athletic trainers who work at the schools in the afternoon to see injured athletes. Our athletic trainers also cover a wide range of home sporting events such as football, soccer, basketball, lacrosse and many more.
Not only do our athletic trainers see the injured athletes, but they also work with the athletic director, coaches, doctors and teachers to ensure the best care for the athletes. Athletic trainers work in the areas of prevention and health promotion, clinical examination and diagnosis, acute care of injury and illness, therapeutic interventions, healthcare administration, and professional development and responsibility.
Our athletic training program offers impact testing, on-site game coverage, physical therapy, sport-specific training and basic first aid care.
Our team physicians are Dr. Adam Johanssen with TRIA Orthopedics and Dr. Andrew Houghton with Allina Health Orthopedics. To set up an appointment with Dr. Johannsen, call 952.831.8742 or for Dr. Houghton, call 952.428.2001 and let us know you are a Shakopee or Jordan athlete.
