St. Francis Regional Medical Center offers a variety of resources to help manage and relieve your pain.
Therapeutic pain injections
Therapeutic injections, offered as part of St. Francis' interventional radiology program, are performed by specialized medical doctors, called radiologists, from Consulting Radiologists, Ltd.
Interventional Radiology uses minimally-invasive procedures to diagnose and treat various disorders and pain by using images of the patient (x-Ray and ultrasound) to guide radiologists in delivering treatments via a small puncture in the skin.
These minimally-invasive procedures can offer an alternative to surgery:
- Upper and lower extremity joint injections and aspirations.
- Facet-lumbar and sacroiliac joint injections.
- Interlaminar lumbar epidural steroid injection (ESI).
- Arthrogram (joint x-Ray) of: ankle, elbow, hip, knee, shoulder and wrist.
- Joint aspirations of: ankle, elbow, hip, knee, shoulder and wrist.
- Joint injections of: ankle, elbow, hip, knee, shoulder (sacroiliac joint), wrist and spine.
- Epidural injections of: intralaminar—lumbar, facet injection—lumbar and lumbar puncture.
- Myelogram (using x-rays and contrast) of: cervical, thoracic and lumbar.
If you have questions about these procedures, or would like to schedule an appointment, please contact St. Francis Diagnostic Services at 952.428.2151.
