COVID-19 Tests for Inpatients

Some patients may receive a COVID-19 test upon being admitted to St. Francis' Emergency Department, or prior to certain scheduled procedures. Your provider will let you know if you need to complete a test prior to your procedure. For information about receiving COVID-19 test results, read the section on test results below.

COVID-19 Test Results

When a patient's COVID-19 test result is positive, they will receive a phone call from a nurse to explain next steps.

Patients will not receive a phone call if their COVID-19 test is negative. Negative test results will be delivered through a patient's online Allina Health account. Patients will only receive a phone call with negative results if the patient does not have an active online account.

The Allina Health account is free, and makes it easy to review test results and communicate with your clinic, hospital and provider. Sign up for an account to learn about all of the benefits of an Allina Health account.

We take every effort to get results processed as soon as possible, but it may take up to a week to receive your test results.

Please do not call the St. Francis Emergency Department for your results. Please contact your primary care provider with questions or concerns.
