    Online Check-In FAQs

    Q. Is my reservation time a guarantee?
    A. No, it is not. The hospital or urgent care will do its best, but if there are sicker patients ahead of you, they may be seen first.

    Q. What does this service cost?
    A. Nothing. It is absolutely free.

    Q. Can I use online check-in even if I don't have insurance? What about Medicare or Medicaid?
    A. Online check-in is free for everyone, with or without insurance, Medicare or Medicaid. Once you've been screened or stabilized, you may be asked to arrange for payment.

    Q. What if I check-in, and then start feeling a lot worse?
    A. If you are feeling worse, do NOT wait for your check-in time. Go to the Emergency Department immediately. If you feel that your condition is 'life threatening', call 911 right away.

    Q. When I arrive, will I see a doctor right away?
    A. You will be seen by a healthcare professional who will evaluate your condition and decide on the best course of action for you. You may be seen by a nurse, physician, physician assistant,or another combination of healthcare professionals.

    Q. I don't need Emergency or Urgent Care anymore. How do I cancel my reservation?
    A. Call the facility where you made your reservation, and tell them that you are canceling your online check-in reservation.

    Q. I made a reservation, but now I cannot get there on time. Can I adjust my time?

Walk-ins are always welcome and appointments are never necessary, but we understand your need for flexibility, which is why St. Francis was the first hospital in Minnesota to offer online check-in for emergency care. For non-urgent emergency visits, skip the waiting room with our free online check in tool and wait comfortably at home.

St. Francis' two Urgent Care locations provide professional medical care for urgent (non-life-threatening) medical needs. Our friendly providers can treat you on a walk-in basis, but we understand your need for flexibility, which is why St. Francis was the first hospital in Minnesota to offer free online check-in for urgent and emergency care, allowing you to comfortably wait at home.

St. Francis' two Express Care locations are equipped to treat conditions that require a lower level of care on a walk-in, first-come, first-served basis.
