Depression, a persistent unhappiness with decreased energy, loss of appetite, changes in sleep patterns, withdrawal and suicidal thoughts.

Anxiety, a fearfulness or uneasiness that arise from anticipation of danger. The anxiety may be focused on a certain thing or situation phobias may be generalized, or may also be experienced in periods of sudden onset and accompanied by physical symptoms (panic attacks).

Manic depression, also known as bipolar disorder causes a person's mood to alternate between being very energetic, euphoric, exaggerated and/or irritable to being very depressed, and occasionally psychotic.

Schizophrenia, a psychotic disorder characterized by a loss of touch with reality, disordering of thought processes, delusions, hallucinations and an inability to think straight.

Dementia, an illness that affects a person's thinking and memory. It also affects ability to problem solve and make the right decisions.

Obsessive compulsive disorders, an anxiety disorder characterized by recurrent thoughts, feelings, ideas or sensations (obsessions) or behaviors that makes a person feel driven to perform (compulsions). A person may have both obsessions and compulsions.

Post traumatic disorders, may occur soon after a major trauma, or it can be delayed for more than six months after the event. When it occurs soon after the trauma, it usually gets better after 3 months. However, some people have a longer-term form of PTSD, which can last for many years.
