"Tee One for Hope" – Thursday, June 12, 2008
St. Francis Foundation Charity Golf Tournament “Tee One for Hope” was held at Stonebrooke Golf Club, Shakopee with a 9:00 am shotgun start, followed by a barbecue lunch buffet, cash bar, silent auction, and an awards ceremony with tournament prizes and raffle drawing.
The tournament raised more than $65,000, including over $20,000 of in-kind donations and services. These proceeds will allow the St. Francis Cancer Center, as part of the hospital’s diagnostic excellence program, to create a healing environment for cancer patients using its digital mammography services. The initiative is part of St. Francis' commitment to advance diagnostic imaging in all areas of care, technology and environment. Thank you to employees, volunteers, golfers and sponsors whose involvement contributed to a great event.

St. Francis Foundation 21st Annual Gala
Reflections of Silver…Visions of Gold
Attendees of the 21st Annual St. Francis Foundation Gala ‘Reflections of Silver …Visions of Gold” came together on Saturday, October 27th at Oak Ridge Hotel and Conference Destination in Chaska to support the healing environment at St. Francis Regional Medical Center with over $175,000 raised, including in-kind support.
Specifically, the funds will directly benefit the enhancement of four rooms used by our pediatric patients. With the addition of a new lighting feature, these rooms in Care South will allow children to pick the color to be placed on the wall at the foot of their bed and add new technology to the rooms. In addition to putting smiles on many kids’ faces, the funds will be used to create a new Atrium Garden for employees, patients and families. The new garden will be an extension and continuation of our commitment to offer a variety of gardens on campus to serve as a warm and welcoming retreat and it will offer an outside patio for patients and staff.
The annual presentation of the prestigious Physician Touchstone Award, which recognizes a physician who has made a tremendous impact at St. Francis through both their leadership and clinical excellence, was presented by Dr. David Carlson, last year’s recipient. The 2007 Physician Touchstone Award was given to Dr. Lars Conway, Pathologist and Medical Director of the Laboratory at St. Francis. Dr. Conway joined St. Francis in 1984 and built the pathology and laboratory departments.
The Humanitarian Award is given to recognize individuals for their service to our community. The recipients of the evening's two awards demonstrated an outstanding commitment to human rights and exemplified the values of the St. Francis Foundation – that of compassion, integrity, focus, and stewardship.
The first award was given to a group of individuals who have demonstrated incredible acts of kindness and service to St. Francis, our patients and the communities we serve. Their endless love and dedication, and their many endeavors at St. Francis have improved the human condition and alleviated suffering for thousands of individuals. A Humanitarian Award was presented to the Franciscan Sisters of St. Paul in honor of founding the St. Francis Regional Medical Center Foundation in 1982.
The second award was given to a group of individuals who demonstrated respect and embraced common moral decencies such as compassion and human diversity. They provided unfailing respect for the dignity of all persons and guided St. Francis in providing services that recognize the whole person. A Humanitarian Award was presented to the Benedictine Sisters of St. Scholastica Monastery in Duluth in honor of their 20 years of sponsorship of the St. Francis Foundation and St. Francis Regional Medical Center.
